Why should I attend the virtual event?
Having a virtual (online) event means that anyone can attend, EWA members or non-members. All in the land mobile radio industry are invited, whether you always attend the annual Leadership Summit in person, or if this year’s virtual event is your first experience. There is information about regulatory issues that affect your business, and updates on technology that are only presented at the Summit. With a virtual summit, you will save money on travel, as you can attend from wherever you keep your office these days. In-person connections are important to any event, and there will be networking opportunities to interact with other attendees throughout the event.
What do I need to participate?
You need to register and pay to participate. In terms of equipment, most up to date computers and mobile devices can run the virtual event. You will participate through a conference website designed specifically for this virtual conference. This is where you will view presentations, participate with questions and comments, and network with others.
You will need a good Internet connection and a web browser with the latest updates. For the best viewing experience, we recommend that you use Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. Internet Explorer is not recommended as some functions, including chat, are not fully supported.
Who should attend?
We encourage all EWA members, customers, and industry partners to attend. EWA members receive special member-only discounts. Business executives and staff, technicians and engineers, and sales and marketing staff are all welcome.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the event that usually requires traveling to another city and time out of the office. You’ll hear from EWA senior staff on new initiatives, you can attend the EWA Annual Membership Meeting, and you will hear from industry experts on a variety of topics and technologies, including how to get involved in IIoT, CBRS, 900 MHz and other opportunities. The entire Summit is designed to give you the tools to thrive in this challenging and unprecedented environment.
I’ve registered and now what do I do?
You will receive two emails initially. One is a receipt for your payment. The second is a registration confirmation. If you have not received either of these emails within minutes after registering, please check your spam filter or junk mail folder for an email from EWA, with @Performedia.com in the domain name. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
The registration confirmation will detail the next step, which is to set up your profile and password. To set up your profile, you will use your username (email address) and there will be a link to set your password.
Once you have set your password, the next step is to set up your profile. Some of your information will already be on the profile including your name and email address. Please add other information including your organization, business address, web site, job title and an image of yourself. This photo will show up during networking sessions. Your profile will not be public to other attendees unless you choose to share it by participating in networking. Your address is particularly helpful for EWA so that we can associate your registration with company records already on file. No data you provide will be shared outside of EWA.
Once you have set up your profile, including your unique password, you can explore the site. EWA will send eblasts with updates on the program.
Can I share my registration?
Your registration is tied to your username and password and is unique to you and set up for one person on one device at a time. We have made this event extremely affordable to encourage attendance. Also, to encourage many people to attend from the same company, there is a discounted group rate for ten or more people. This way, your entire staff can attend!
What happens on the first day of the Summit?
Before the event, EWA will share a video and written instructions about how to fully participate in this online event.
Sessions are available to watch in real time. You can join a session late, but you will not be able to rewind and watch what has already occurred until the sessions are available on demand. As a registered attendee, you will receive access from EWA to the recorded, on-demand sessions at a later date, after the Summit is over.
What Happens in the Networking Break Out Room on Tuesday, October 13 and Thursday, October 15?
On Tuesday, October 13 and Thursday, October 15, make plans to join dedicated networking sessions in the Break Out Room. When you enter the Break Out Room, you’ll see tables with 2, 4 or 8 seats each. Go to any empty seat and start networking with other attendees at that table. Participate in video chats, audio conversations or text chats with the people at the table and leave tables at any time to join other tables like you would at an in-person event. Our sponsors will host tables, including Motorola Solutions and JVKENWOOD USA, with representatives at the tables to answer your questions and have conversations. EWA plans to host tables on 800 MHz and T-Band Opportunities, Broken FCC Policies: DTV and 4.9 GHz, Licensing and Compliance Questions and Protecting Your Spectrum Assets.
Be sure to update your profile so you can take full advantage of the Networking sessions!
What About Speed Networking on Wednesday, October 14?
Fast paced, easy to do and fun, our Summit Speed Networking Concierge will randomly assign attendees to one of several break-out rooms on a rotating basis. Every 10 minutes, you will automatically be placed in a new room with other attendees or you can choose at any time to be reassigned to another room. During this time, too, you can reach out to other attendees outside of the break-out rooms for chat sessions by using the attendee profiles.
How can I participate as a Sponsor?
Please contact Elaine Walsh, Conference Director, at [email protected] or by calling +1-520-620-0063 for a complete sponsor package.
When will the full schedule be posted?
New details with sponsors and other details are being added continually, so please continue to check back on the Summit program and refer to EWA updates.
