Jim is the Director for Mobile and 5G at The MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit organization working in the public interest across federal, state and local governments, as well as industry and academia. Jim is responsible for the strategy and execution of our technical efforts focused on the acceleration of 5G adoption for our sponsors and for the nation. This includes the development of advanced use cases that 5G enables, the development of architectures that allow the safe and secure use of 5G in critical environments, guiding the evolution of standards to meet the needs of our sponsors, and establishing partnerships with industry, academia, and other non-profits to advance 5G in these areas.Prior to joining MITRE in 1987, Jim served for 8 years in the US Army, supporting SIGINT collection and operations, as well as serving as a service school instructor at the US Army Intelligence School, Devens. Jim teaches classes at the MITRE institute in cellular technology and cyber security. Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Political Science from the University of the State of New York.
