Chris is founder and Chief Executive Officer of CGM Advisors, LLC, a communications, government relations, and market analysis consulting firm working with a range of technology ventures. Prior to founding CGM Advisors, LLC, Chris spent 14 years at CTIA – The Wireless Association as a spokesperson and advocate for the wireless industry. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President, with operational oversight for the ninety-person association with an annual $65 million budget. Previously, he served as CTIA’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and led the association’s advocacy efforts before the Federal Communications Commission and other agencies as well as the White House. Chris has led many successful policy campaigns, integrating communications, public relations, marketing and lobbying strategies into a coordinated plan. He has testified nineteen times before Congress, and has appeared on television and radio, as well as being quoted in numerous publications and appearing on many panels on behalf of the industry.
Before joining CTIA, Chris was an Associate at Wiley, Rein and Fielding, focusing on a range of communications issues. He also was Vice President and co-founder of Jacobson & Associates, a strategic consulting firm. Chris earned his law degree, Magna Cum Laude, with a Communications Institute certificate, from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University. He received his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College, majoring in Economics. Chris is married with two children and lives in Arlington, Virginia.
